Our Story

We’re located in the heart of Seneca’s downtown historic district on Ram Cat Alley, just minutes from

Lake Keowee and Clemson University. No matter where you’re from, you’ll feel like a local at The Spot,

with great food, cold drinks, and good times every day!

A Seneca Staple

For 25 years, The Spot on the Alley has been a place where friends meet, families gather, and good times

roll. Locally owned and operated, The Spot has always been more than just a restaurant,

it’s a part of Seneca’s story.

The Spot exists today because of Stu and Wendy Pohl. They built the foundation, the legacy, and the heart of this place for the last 25 years. Now, the torch has been proudly passed to Ben and Lauren Kroeger, who are dedicated to carrying on The Spot’s legacy.

Ben grew up right here in Seneca, and his passion for community and great hospitality

drives everything they do. Together, they’re committed to keeping The Spot the kind of place where everyone feels like a regular, a true hometown hangout where memories are made.

Just like the classic Cheers bar, The Spot is where you can relax, unwind, and be welcomed by name.

Here’s to the next 25 years of great food, cold drinks, and familiar faces!

Our Team

The heart of The Spot has always been its people. Many of our staff have been with us for years —

some for decades — and they’re the reason guests feel like family the moment they walk through the

door. Whether they know your order by heart or greet you by name, our team keeps the tradition of

genuine hospitality alive every day.

Community Matters

From supporting local events to serving as a gathering place during Jazz on the Alley, community is

at the center of everything we do. We love to give back to this community and we’re proud to be part

of Seneca’s downtown revival and honored to have generations of families choose The Spot as their

spot.

We proudly support The Hospice of the Foothills and the Cancer Institute right here in Seneca.

Neighbors Serving Neighbors

At the Spot, taking care of our community is part of who we are. That’s why during Duke Energy’s

outage season, we open at 5 a.m. to welcome third-shift workers with a hot meal and cold drinks. It’s

our way of supporting the people who keep Oconee powered and thriving.
